Track your assignment through the client portal and receive proof of service following successful delivery.
JPL serves supplied documents. Clients or their attorneys are responsible for subpoena issuance, required notices, and legal deadlines. Court filing is a separate service.

How much does it cost to serve a subpoena in California?
Service options start at $99 per party, per address. Witness fees, Deposition Officer services, and applicable records or filing charges are separate. Confirm the total for your assignment before ordering.
Do I need to include a witness-fee check?
It depends on the subpoena. A records-only deposition subpoena requires the $15 fee with service. Ordinary appearance and qualifying public-employee subpoenas follow different payment rules. Use the witness-fee guide above and confirm the payee and arrangements with JPL.
How quickly can my subpoena be served?
Choose the first-attempt option that fits your needs. Completed service depends on locating the recipient and other assignment details. Tell us your legal deadline before ordering; an attempt timeframe does not extend that deadline.
What do I need to place an order?
Provide an issued subpoena, accompanying documents, recipient name, service address, relevant dates, and service instructions. Arrange applicable witness payments and tell us if you need a Deposition Officer.
Can JPL receive subpoenaed business records?
Yes, through a separately arranged Deposition Officer assignment. Setup and processing charges are listed above. This service does not include determining whether production is complete or pursuing missing records.
What if my case is outside California?
Tell us where the case is pending and where the witness or records are located. Additional issuance or domestication steps may be needed before service. Contact JPL to confirm available administrative assistance and scope. Consult your attorney for legal requirements.
Does service include filing the proof with the court?
Proof of service is provided after successful service. Court filing is separate; contact us to arrange e-filing or other available filing support.
